The only way to get to Vashon Island is by ferry boat. There are 2 ferry routes that go back and forth from Vashon Island daily:

• • • • Point Defiance Ferry Terminal – Tahlequah (Tacoma)
      • Southworth – Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal (West Seattle)

While you will need to buy a ticket for the ferry that goes to Vashon Island, there is no fare to ride either of the ferries that transport you off the island.

Be sure to check out the ferry schedule for fares and be sure to get to the dock with plenty of time to spare until the next ferry!
