Just west and across a bridge from downtown Seattle is a beautiful pocket of space called West Seattle that is extremely different from its North and Downtown counterparts. The area has more of a “small town” feel, while still carrying somewhat of a city vibe. It is definitely an eclectic part of town – and very unique when it comes to Seattle culture. West Seattle is divided into about 24 different neighborhoods, and each offers incredible places to eat.

The best part of this restaurant is the milkshakes, which are world-famous and are offered in a huge variety of yummy flavors. Luna Park Cafe is open from 8 AMΒ to 3 PM seven days a week and makes the perfect stop for breakfast and lunch.

2. Spuds On Alki

If you are on Alki Beach and get a craving for a juicy burger with all the toppings, Pepperdock’s is where to go! The restaurant sits right on the shoreline of Alki Beach and provides a gorgeous backdrop for a meal at any time of the day, as Salty’s is open from 6 AM-10 PM Monday through Friday.

Salty’s has a wide variety of gluten-free options, as well as seafood-free options, so it is great for families of all sizes. The restaurant once held an incredible brunch buffet, but they have since taken that off their event schedule. While we eagerly await its return, breakfast is still great at Salty’s!

6. Husky Deli

Husky Deli sits right in the heart of West Seattle, in the Alaska junction, and is known for its delectable ice cream. The company has been a beloved part of the West Seattle community, and family-owned and operated, since 1932. Although they are locally famous for their ice cream, and rightfully so, they offer so much more than that!

You can also grab a yummy deli sandwich or a grilled panini for a pretty fair price, and they make PB&J’s and grilled cheese sandwiches if you happen to have kids with less than adventurous taste palettes. Stop in for a sandwich and ice cream, and don’t forget to look around at their eclectic selection of grocery items – everything from pickles to pesto!

The onion rings are absolutely amazing, and during the summer when it is warm, it is especially fun to eat in the restaurant with the “garage” doors open. Cupcake Royale also offers divine espresso drinks and an adorable dining room with just enough pink accents. The cupcakes are light and airy, and the frosting is sweet and smooth, making the perfect pair.
